God chooses the weak things, the lowly things..

From the book God Chooses Trump:

Some of God’s greatest leaders in the Bible were flawed men and women. To list a few;

Noah got drunk.

Abraham lied about his wife.

Jacob was a liar.

Moses murdered an Egyptian guard. Rahab was a harlot.

Samson had problems with lust and anger. David was an adulterer.

Paul persecuted the church.

Peter denied Christ.....

Perhaps God finds that the best people to use successfully in leadership positions should be relatable, human, flawed, having experienced hardships and overcome them. Different from the world’s glorified image of perfection.

“If God chose only well-rounded people with no character flaws, some of the credit would inevitably go to the people and not to the Lord. By choosing flawed people with a bad past, a shaky present, and an uncertain future, God alone gets the glory when they accomplish amazing things by his power.”- Ray Pritchard – Why God Chooses Splendid Sinners and Loveable Losers.

1 Corinthians 1:27 reads - “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him”.

Paul teaches in these verses that God chooses “weak things” and “lowly things”. The people God often chooses to use are those that would not be considered worthy by the world. Those that the world would overlook. Weak, lowly, despised and forgotten people.

In your own life, you may have witnessed experiences whereby God nullified the mighty by using the weak, the proud by using the humble, the wise by using the simple, the experienced by using the unqualified and many other such cases. In the case of Trump, God nullified the highly qualified politician, Hillary Clinton, (30+ years of experience) with an outsider, a business man with no political background, Trump.

As humans, we will never understand God’s rational, the Bible says in Romans 11:33, “Oh the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” To sum it up, God sees the heart. He sees everything from a much greater perspective than we ever can. God chooses.
