What is righteousness?
In last week’s video titled “Good” Works, we looked at Isaiah 64:6 which reads, “all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.”
Throughout scripture reference is made to righteousness as being as clothing.
Isaiah 61 :10 from the King James version reads,
“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels."
In today’s video, we take a look at two scripture portions from Matthew 6,
“Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothing?” – Matthew 6:25 (KJV)
And Matthew 6:33 (KJV) – “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Are food and clothing merely used literally in the sense that Jesus was teaching us not to worry about the material things of this world. True. The central message Jesus teaches in this scripture is “trust God and do not worry.”
But, could there be more?
Are food and clothing here also used figuratively in the sense that there is a deeper connection for us to understand those things that matter spiritually?
A connection that can help us indeed to stand firmly on the message that this teaching delivers?
And, how is all this connected to His Kingdom and His righteousness?
More about this in today’s video titled – His Righteousness.
