2019: Travel Light.

My desire for you for 2019 is that you will travel light and therefore go further.

What do I mean by this? Leave the baggage in 2018!

This baggage includes unrepentant hearts, unforgiveness, anger and anything that you very well know is holding you back from walking out your best life with Jesus Christ.

“..let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us…”

Hebrews 12:1.

It is not always easy to break old habits or get a new outlook on life but it is possible over time and with the help of the Holy Spirit. Some tips to help you along your journey:

  1. Find time at the start of the year to spend quiet time with the Lord and submit to Him everything that you wish to let go of or change. Ask him for direction, strength and help. (Proverbs 16:3, Proverbs 37:23).

  2. Be committed and consistent. Remain in prayer and act on what the Lord shows you and you will start to see positive changes come into your life. (Galatians 6:9, Hebrews 10:39, 1 Timothy 6:12, James 1:4).

  3. Find a good church, prayer group or partner and let others share in your accountability and progress. (Hebrews 10:25,

  4. Do not leave anything for tomorrow that you can do today. We do not know what the future holds or the day of the return of our Lord and saviour Christ Jesus. (Mathew 24:36-44, 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3, 2 Peter 3-10, Revelations 3:3). Time is short.

On a grander outlook, 2019 I feel is going to be a year for the brave, the strong willed, the committed, the prepared, those who are looking up at Jesus as the author and finisher of their faith (Hebrews 12:2).

The time to clean up our act was yesterday (Romans 13:12-14). Ephesians 2:27 says, Jesus is coming back for a church without spot wrinkle or blemish.

Let us step away from our comforts and familiar ways of life and test a new way of living in love and in faith believing that He who started a good work in us will see it to completion.

Have you got a personal vision for 2019?
