Let the mountain move.
What do we do when things look impossible?
Do we turn to a close friend, colleague or spouse in the hope that they will offer us lasting words of hope and comfort? Do we recoil to a safe corner and wait for the storms of life to miraculously pass?
Throughout the Bible we are taught to trust God. In 1 Peter 5:7, to cast all our cares upon Jesus because he cares for us. In Matthew 6:25, not to worry about our lives, what we will eat or drink or about our body, what we will wear.
Even with these promises and more, ever so often we feel the weight of life’s challenges heavy upon us. It is in such times, when all looks impossible, that I have found the answer to be in trust. A trust defined simply as a close relationship with God. In continuous communication through prayer, fasting and studying his word. When we walk this closely with our Lord there is no room for the enemy, his tricks and schemes. We are able to hear from God. To conquer doubt and fear as we patiently wait upon his help and reward.
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. – Hebrews 11:6
In Psalms, David writes,
I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. - Psalms 16:8
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. - Psalms 20:7
Concerning moving mountains,
When Jesus’s disciples were unable to heal a demon possessed boy, upon rebuking the demon, Jesus said to the disciples, “Because of your unbelief : for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” (Matthew 17:20 KJV)
……..and nothing shall be impossible for you.
No matter what it is that you are facing today, I pray that you will turn your eyes to God. Trust in Him. He is mighty to save. Nothing is too big for Him. He loves you and promises that He will never leave you nor forsake you.
