Why do you seek the living among the dead? – Luke 24:5

Jesus lives

The King is risen.

The Lord our savior Jesus Christ lives.

He laid his life down so we could live. (John 3:16)

He came into our humanity so we could share in his divinity.

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” – John 1:14

He came so we could be born again. Born of incorruptible seed. – 1 Peter 1:23

“And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”

- Philippians 2:8

If you are a believer not only do you share in his life, but in his death, burial and resurrection.

“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.” – Hebrews 2:9

When you accepted Jesus as Lord, you died, and rose with him as a new creation. The old has gone, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Jesus Reigns

Today we celebrate, the mystery of God, our risen saviour, Jesus Christ, who defeated death, hell and the grave. “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” – Revelation 1:18

God raised Him from the dead, releasing Him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for Him to be held in its clutches. (Acts 2:24)

“He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.” – Ephesians 1:20-21

He is the one who was, who is and is to come. (Revelation 1:8)

Hallelujah, we celebrate the Risen King, the living King.

Happy Easter Sunday.

Father, we thank you for the gift of life that came to us through your son Jesus. Because he lives we live. In him we have our hope, our joy and our confidence.
